Oil Painting for Advanced Students with Katie Hutter | 6 Week Class

Come and learn what makes a painting exceptional, how to create a painting that is more engaging for the viewer, how to mix difficult colors, the importance of tonal values as well as color temperatures, and when to use warm vs cool. Students can provide their own materials: warm and cool primary colors: cad yellow, lemon yellow, quinacridone red/permanent red rose/alizarin crimson, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, yellow ochre, burnt umber, titanium white, black (optional); palette knife for mixing colors, palette, gamsol odorless thinner in a lidded jar, liquin impasto or similar gel; paper towels; variety of brushes suitable for oils including flat, filbert, fan, mop, round, etc. This is a 6 week class.
