Oh, Here We Go A-Wassailing! Free Orchard Care & All Ages Gathering

Join us for a festive day of orchard care and community spirit as we come together to prepare our apple trees for the season ahead! We’ll practice the ancient tradition of wassailing while tending to the orchard—moving pruned branches, mulching the apple trees, and nourishing their roots with willow water to support a fruitful year.

Kids' activities like making peanut butter pinecones for the birds is included!

What is Wassailing?
Wassailing is an age-old custom where we gather to offer blessings to the trees for a bountiful harvest in the coming year. It’s a joyful way to celebrate the season and honor the orchard.

After our work, we’ll share seasonal snacks and beverages. Feel free to bring a dish or drink to add to the feast and make the gathering even more special.

And to end the day with some extra cheer, we’ll bang on pots and pans—an age-old tradition to wake up the trees and invite a prosperous season. Kids will especially love this lively part of the celebration!

What to bring:

• Gloves and weather-appropriate clothing for working in the orchard
• A dish or beverage to share (optional but appreciated!)
• Pots and pans to make some noise!
