Ofrenda workshop. An evening of altar symbols and remembrance
About this Event
In Mexico, death is not hidden away. She is invited to the party.
Every year, the souls of our ancestors find their way home, guided by the bright color and scent of marigolds (cempasúchil). For one night we eat, drink and laugh together again.
This retreat invites you to honor those who came before you and to let go of the old stories that no longer fit, to make space for who you are becoming.
Come exhale what you've been carrying.
Come remember.
Come honor.
Come let something shift.

A living tradition
Día de los Muertos is recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It is a sacred tradition of remembrance, community and celebration that is much older than Halloween and separate from it. Teresa was born and raised in México, and she shares this celebration from her own life and deep personal reverence.
What to expect
Grounding yoga. We begin by settling fully into the body.
The altar's story. Teresa guides us through the traditions, symbols and origins of the Day of the Dead altar: what each element means and the story it tells.
Altar lighting. Together we light the altar, a shared moment to honor our beloved departed.
Shared offerings. We share snacks brought in memory of our loved ones.
Guided reflection. A practice to look at the stories you've been carrying and begin to rewrite them.
Blue String Circle. A sacred ceremony to honor those who have passed.
Sound journey. We close with healing sound to ground us and take in the beauty of the evening.
Please bring a snack in memory of someone you love, to share with the circle.
