Of Roots and Colors

Of Roots and Colors presents musical traditions from across the broader Iranian cultural world from the melodies of Khorasan and Tajikistan in the northeast to the songs of Fars and the Bakhtiari, Luri, and Kurdish traditions of the Zagros mountains. Rooted in centuries of shared heritage and shaped by diverse peoples, languages, and traditions, these musical voices reflect the richness and depth of a vast cultural landscape that extends beyond today’s borders.

At a time when connection, heritage, and community feel especially meaningful, this program offers a space for listening, reflection, and togetherness through music, honoring the richness of these living traditions and the role they continue to play in bringing people closer across generations and communities.
