About this Event
Of Broken Myths and Becoming Dawn looks at what it means to live in a world where identity is never fixed. The series explores moments of detachment, when a body changes, when we move away from home, or when the world sees us differently than we see ourselves. Instead of smoothing those moments over, JINGYI engages with them directly. The works move through cycles of myth and memory, tracing the patterns we inherit and the ones we choose to break.
ABOUT JINGYI
JINGYI is an artist, writer, researcher based in London and Shanghai. Her practice traces moments of rupture where identity, memory, and meaning lose coherence and begin again. Through image, sound, and spatial montage, she transforms fragments into modern allegories, where haunting, loss, and renewal coexist in quiet tension.
Her artistic practice has been part of “Mythology Inspired” at Loosenart Rome (2024), “Violent Divinity”at Luckypot (2024), Donmar Warehouse Theatre (2023), Hollywood Fringe Festival (2023), Somerset House (2022), Wuzhen Fringe Festival (2019), with raving reviews from Gallery Bagging, British Asian Collective, Skinny Mag, etc.. She has given workshop & talks to Stills Edinburgh and Central Saint Martins UAL. JINGYI is currently the curatorial associate at Apperley Arts and the co-producer for Curating Visibility in London Museum.
