Note: MJ will be joining us virtually, but members are still encouraged to attend in-person.
Joseph Albers, the great artist/educator of the 20th Century, acknowledged how tricky colors can be. In his words, “Colors deceive continuously.” As artists, how do we navigate this world of deception? Luckily, by using a few simple rules, we can predict how color will try to deceive us and thereby increase our color confidence. In this lecture, MJ Kinman, maker of giant gem quilts, will share four rules of color interaction and show you how to apply them to your own quilt design to create dramatic effects-regardless of your subject matter.
MJ’s lecture is based off her new book titled “Crack the Color Code: Add Drama to Your Designs Using the Secrets of Color Interaction” which is available on her website.
