About this Event
Join us for three delicious days of hands-on fun at Oconee 4-H's 250 Cooking Camp, where youth travel through South Carolina's history through culture and cuisine! Each day highlights a differnt time period and technique in South Carolina culinary history via heart-healthy lunch recipes, engaging cooking activities, and mindful food presentation—all designed with youth in mind.
Campers will plan deliciously balanced meals, practice basic culinary skills, explore new flavors, and learn how food connects us to the people, places, and practices of South Carolina. Along the way, they'll build confidence in the kitchen and take pride in preparing something healthy and tasty.
Each youth registration includes:
- Camp admission for 1 youth (ages 5–13 as of January 1, 2025).
- Hands-on ingredient prep, cooking, and presentation each day.
- Daily lunch (and tasting-chefs taste as they go!) for the participant and one guest for free lunch!*
- Recipe booklet and take-home kitchen goods.
*Lunch starts when the camp ends at noon each day. Youth may be picked up then (lunchs to-go), or campers & their guests may stay to have a meal with us until 1pm.
All guests must have tickets for all days they will be joining the youth! In addition to the included lunch guest, ONE additional guest ticket per registered youth per day** may be purchased for $6.50. This means that for each day, youth participants may have a maximum of TWO GUESTS join them for lunch (one free, one for $6.50)
**(additional tickets may be available - subject to space and host discretion).
🎉 Space is limited to 12 participants—register early to reserve your spot! (if registration is full, please contact Oconee 4-H agent, Lil, to be put on the waitlist).
REGISTRATION DEADLINE for youth AND GUEST TICKETS: June 8th (2 weeks before camp starts) This allows us to have enough time to purchase materials and ingredients for all cooks and guests.
