Be part of the OC Salsa Students Team. If Know how to dance Salsa, want to improve your dancing and have fun, then this team is for you! FREE to Tryout
The OC Salsa Students Training team is calling all INTERMEDIATE LEVEL students and dancers to join in. You will be learning 2 Full Salsa choreographies, one for Shines & Styling Footwork, one for Salsa Partnerwork. Both choreographies will be learned by the same group/team. You will be able to learn 2 full dance style choreographies at the same time. Double value!
WHEN: 3/ 17 FREE TRYOUT DAY 7:30PM-9:30pm. LIMITED SPOTS. After tryout day, training will be Mondays 7-9:30pm.
WHERE: OC Salsa Dance Studio, 16131 Harbor, Fountain Valley
HOW LONG: This is a 6 Months Training Team. PERFORMANCE OPTIONAL/NOT REQUIRED
GOALS: The main goal is to learn 2 full choreographies for Salsa (Shines and Partnerwork) to perform at OC Salsa Students showcase. These steps, techniques and sequences will also dramatically improve your social dancing abilities within a structured environment. Also our goal for our students is for them to have fun and promote friendship and camaraderie within the group while providing a performance (optional) as a goal. To challenge students to learn steps that will improve and take their dancing to a higher level.
DETAILS OF TRYOUT: Students don't need to register for tryout date. Please come to tryout 30 Mts prior to beginning to check in so we can start right on time with everyone there. At tryout, we will do 2 warm up social dances to 2 full songs (salsa). After that you will learn on the course of 2 hours and a half part of the 2 choreographies Please bring dance shoes, workout clothing and water to hydrate yourself. At the end of tryout we will announce who made the team.
DETAILS OF WEEKLY TRAINING: Every week you will learn new choreography for Shines ad Partnerwork. And review what was covered. There will be team formations, and partner changes, choreography style, as well, dance drills and exercises to improve balance, flexibility, at each practice.
DETAILS OF SHOWCASE: OC Salsa Students show case will be a one day event, with shows by the students and dancing after to celebrate and showcase the routines learned from each level. Students will be able to invite friends and family members.
WHO QUALIFIES: This project is for all students looking for challenge. Must be Intermediate Level and above to participate as this training won't cover basic steps.
HOW MUCH: Included to OC Salsa Monthly Members. $129 includes OC salsa classes, wed & fri socials & bootcamps, Salsa teams and Adv Wed Social Dance Program w/ Xiu.

WHO IS THE INSTRUCTOR FOR THE TEAMS? Arthur Levine
About Arthur Levine: Arthur has been dancing and teaching for over a decade. He has been an instructor at OC Salsa since 2019. Arthur connects with the transformative power of dance to change peoples’ lives. Arthur has studied with fantastic artists and teachers from all over the globe in dance styles from Salsa, Casino, Bachata, Ballroom, Hip-hop, Jazz, and many other dances. He is a resident instructor at the Granada LA and runs their Rueda de Casino program. Arthur is a team director with Afeenix Rising dance co. He is also a former resident instructor and dancer at On2ourage dance company based in LA. He has performed across the country with LA-based dance companies including Afeenix Dance Company, Xpensabulz dance troupe, and On2ourage Dance Company. He brings a fun and an intellectual approach to teaching dance. He teaches all levels from absolute beginner to advanced dancers. Arthur is here to share the love and joy of dance with you. Hopefully you can find something in dance that moves you and makes you grow! Arthur is bilingual in Spanish and English.
