Discover Castle Water's wetland birds in a peaceful New Year guided walk with Ranger, David King, in one of the best places for birds in Sussex! Join us for an exclusive sunset guided walk starting out from Brede Lock on Harbour Road.
Focusing on the winter birds roosting and hunting in the wetlands, reedbeds and farmland, we'll take a walk across the fields out to Castle Water, a freshwater pit managed for wetland wildlife and the farmed part of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, a peaceful and less-visited part of the reserve.
We'll stop at the 'Viewpoint' platform overlooking the reedbeds - an excellent place for birdwatching with a beautiful, scenic view. There'll be opportunities to ask questions and hear from Dave about the work of the Rangers and volunteers.
Previous attendees of Dave's walks said they especially enjoyed:
π Relaxed atmosphere, highly informative, friendly, good length, great to be able to look through the ranger's telescope.
π It was really lovely to have such an expert guide who obviously enjoyed his job and was so knowledgeable.
