Nutrition in Media
About this Event
We get all sorts of conflicting nutrition information through the media, whether it’s our phones, computer TV or billboard ads and posters. We hear about detox programs, eggs are good, eggs are bad, artificial sweeteners, and apple cider vinegar, the list goes on! What is fact and what is fiction? Nutrition in Media explores these questions while helping you learn the red flags of questionable content, one topic at a time.
AUGUST TOPIC: Fibermaxxing
Who among us hasn't been told to eat more fiber?
It may be common knowledge that fiber helps with regularity, but rumors of gut health lipid lowering powers prevail the internet. To maximize these benefits, we now see people on our feeds "fibermaxxing", chowing down 70g of fiber a day and touting how great they feel. To learn how fiber functions in our body, and to find out if its possible to have too much of a good thing, join this quarter's Nutrition in Media!
