Nutcracker Children's Auditions

Children who will be eight or older by September 13th, 2026 are invited to audition for North Star Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker”. No previous dance experience required.

Nutcracker performance dates are December 4, 5 & 6, 2026
Families are required to volunteer for a minimum of two (2) shifts during the rehearsal and performance process.
Auditions are Sunday, September 13th at the North Star Ballet Studios, 1755 Westwood Way.
Audition times are divided by age group. Children should attend the audition for the age that they are on September 13th, 2026:
2:00-3:00 -- Ages 12 & older
2:45-3:45 -- 10 & 11 year olds
3:30-4:30 -- 8 & 9 year olds
Audition Dress Code:
Boys: Fitted white T-shirt, black leggings or shorts, black socks, black ballet shoes
Girls: Black short sleeved leotard with no skirt or decoration, pink footed tights and pink ballet shoes, or skin tone matching tights and skin tone matching ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
If dancers do not have the above attire they may wear leggings or shorts and a fitted t-shirt, socks or bare feet, with hair styled hair away from the face.
There is a $75 performance participation fee for each dancer. This fee is waived for dancers who show proof of enrollment in the free or reduced school lunch program or who are on NSB tuition assistance. This fee is only for those who perform in “The Nutcracker”. The audition is free. Please call 907-451-8800 with questions or email [email protected]
