WELCOME TO NRA BASICS OF PISTOL
In this 8 hour class by an NRA Certified Instructor we teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. During this course you will be provided the opportunity to develop essential handgun safety fundamentals, understand the different types of pistols, and utilize different shooting positions. Some of the topics in the course include gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, selecting and storing a handgun, the fundamentals of shooting and handgun inspection and maintenance. After time in our smokeless range, we will have a live fire session with a final shooting qualification. The course fee is 175.00 plus 25.00 range fee paid to the range. Classes are kept small to ensure individual attention. MUST BE PAID IN FULL TO HOLD SPOT. REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Eye Protection, Hearing Protection, Note-pad and pen strongly recommended We have everything available for sale at the store if you need any of this equipment. We have ammo here, if you cannot purchase, we can provide for you at an additional cost, but any remainder must stay with us.
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT: Bring Your Own Gun: A functional semi-automatic handgun in .22lr, 380 or 9mm, A functional revolver chambered in .38sp, or 357 150 rounds of that caliber ammunition No reloaded ammunition permitted in this class. If you need to borrow a gun, please let us know.
RECOMMENDED ATTIRE: Climate appropriate: short sleeve or long sleeve shirt, High collar or neckline shirt. No low-cut tops/V-necks! Long pants/covered legs recommended Closed-toe shoes Weather appropriate outerwear, where applicable Brimmed ball caps are strongly recommended
