For three weeks, six artists from six countries immersed themselves in the "Performance & Dance" Masterclass at the School of Disobedience. Unlike academic dance training, which often begins with form (technique, sequence, aesthetic lineage...) dance performance begins from another place entirely. Here, movement is not a point of departure; it is a consequence, an outcome of a deeper internal process. Before anything becomes visible, we work at the level of sensation, memory, imagination, and attention. We do not search for steps, but for states. We practice listening before acting, feeling before shaping, being before performing.
On November 21 & 22, the studio opens for two evenings of sharing. These are not finished pieces, but fragments of research: beginnings, attempts, and discoveries. What you will see is not a spectacle, but a series of process: artists learning to trust their inner world, to move from honesty, and to show who they really are.
