November 15th Men's and Women's Community Fire

As human beings, we long for connection. We need a sense of belonging, of meaning and purpose in order to thrive. Without these things we can drift into despair and life can feel too difficult to navigate. We need a safe space to express our emotions: the fear, the anger, the grief, the joys and victories in our lives, small and large. Our gratitude for waking with the new day, a kindness shown to us, or perhaps respite from a heavy burden. We need a place to be witnessed and to bear witness. And we need a place where we can experience resilience and find some peace in our hearts so that we can return to our homes, our relationships, our jobs, and our communities renewed... filled with hope and purpose.

Sitting in the presence of Sacred Fire rekindles that spark within us. It deepens our connection with Divine regardless of our spiritual/ faith tradition. We invite you to experience this powerful medicine.

Our Consecrated Hearth is home to many ceremonies...life's celebrations and cycles of gratitude recalibrating us with the cycles of nature. On Saturday, October 18th, we will have the opportunity to give thanks for the abundance in our lives and the miracle of this year's harvest made possible by the generosity of the life-giving waters. Please continue to give thanks daily for the ways you are blessed by the availability of clean water for drinking and cooking, bathing and gardening. One of the hard lessons from our hurricane is that we have not been showing our gratitude for the weather spirits. Let's help each other in our families, communities, and places of worship to not take this divine gift for granted.

Please arrive at 5:30 PM to prepare our Hearth. We invite you to participate by stacking wood, gathering kindling, arranging chairs, etc.

Fire begins at 6 PM. In order to create and maintain a respectful space for those attending, we can't accommodate late arrivals. Thank you for honoring this request.

PRE-REGISTRATION THROUGH EVENTBRITE REQUIRED

WE ARE NO LONGER LIMITING THE NUMBER OF ATTENDEES BUT STILL REQUIRE REGISTRATION SO WE CAN PLAN FOR PARKING AND SETTING UP THE HEARTH TO WELCOME ALL WHO ARE COMING!

In 2021, a special ceremony with 50 people attending from near and far, our fire pit was consecrated and this special place became YOUR hearth, your HOME FIRE, with medicine to renew and sustain you throughout your life. The beautiful pavilion, with its locust posts and cedar shake shingles, was consecrated in a second ceremony in 2024. It is now known as the Mountain House of the Fire, or O-da-lu A-tsi-lu O-we-nv-sv. We hope you'll join us, RAIN OR SHINE, to deepen your kinship with yourself, one another, all of nature, and that which animates and vivifies your life.

A beautiful creek runs close by and we can hear her song as we sit by the fire!
