Saturday, December 6th: Women's Fire

I've shared these words before but I think as women, we tend to carry the worlds' burdens and feel the pain. So once again, I invite you to let these words wash over you...

A special poem from John Roedel as we are in the dark, tricky time where we can sometimes be swallowed whole without special tending:

dear world-weary empath, you can’t leave Earth yet ~ because I just flipped ahead about a hundred pages in your story and I read that someday you will be the reason someone else doesn’t give up on their life

I’m sorry to spoil the end of your epic tale ~ but someday you will be the one who ignites the blaze in another person’s heart that won’t ever be put out again

don’t complicate the plot of your story ~ you are here to be lamplighter that hands out little bits of your flame to ensure the rest of the world doesn’t exist in darkness

I know you have been scorched so many times~ to love the world is to sometimes be burned at the stake by others who mistake your gift of compassion as a personal weakness

I know it’s not easy to be a bringer of light to those who have become addicted to shadows ~ but we need you to be a gardener of effervescent seeds that you will perhaps never see grow into burning rosebushes that can be seen from space

Oh, my love, don’t give into the calling despair ~ set your life on fire with kindness and watch how many other people come out of their caves to sit by your campfire heart to share their own stories of survival

Come join us as we receive the powerful medicine of sitting in the presence of Sacred Fire and recalibrate with Mother Earth's rhythms and wisdom. Here is where the heaviness and burdens of our lives are lifted. We return home with new courage and strength, and connection to ourselves and the divine natural world around us. I invite you to open to the unlanguagable longing of your heart as it seeks healing and safe harbor in this beautiful circle of women. On this night, we contemplate the stillness we feel descending upon us and within us. How to we honor this holy rhythmn, against all societal odds for women to do more and more and more, especially in this holiday season. May we gather and support one another during this going inward time.

Please reserve your seat so that we can prepare for parking and create a welcoming space for you!

Out of respect for our space and those who gather, we will be "closing the door" at 6 PM. Please allow plenty of time for travel, parking and getting comfortable for our time together. You're also invited to help sweep the hearth, stack firewood and gather kindling. Many hands make light work! Thank you!!

Our Community and Women's Fires are drug-and alcohol-free.
