We invite you to join us at regular monthly members meeting for fun and fellowship. Hope to see you there - members and guests welcome! We will be holding this meeting in person. For those unable to join us in person, an online option via Zoom will be available as well. Refreshments will begin at 5:30pm. We meet in the first room on the left after entering through the Crooked Creek Park lobby.
The meeting will begin at 6pm. The park closes at 8pm so we need to be able to finish and vacate the building in time.
We will open our regular Zoom CCAL meeting space for people to join in online at 5:45pm, if they prefer, so that they can still see the meeting (see Zoom login information below).
Our presenter for October is: Rachel Parker Varner. Rachel will present: Social Media Tips and Tricks for Artists
Rachel will present on a combination of topics regarding how to use technology to assist with all things art, from marketing, designing a painting, editing photos, finding and using online communities and art resources and more.
About the Artist:
Rachel Parker is an internationally collected watercolor artist. Her work has been showcased in both local and national magazines, including the cover of the American Veterinarian Association journal (twice). Her inspiration derives from making her subjects come alive through painting. Rachel works primarily in watercolor because she loves the sense of light this medium conveys. In all her paintings, she tries to make light a central theme. “Dramatic lighting can make a potato sack beautiful. Light is a life-giving force, and this is true in a painting as well – it breathes vitality and a sense of awe into the everyday,” says Rachel. As the daughter of an artist, she has always been immersed in the world of art and loves to share her passion with her patrons and the public through her website www.rachelsstudio.com. A reminder to our members:
Each month, we hold a new themed contest in the TAP Gallery. All CCAL members are invited to participate. Simply create your best piece according to the theme and bring it to hang on the start date listed below. (Be sure to bring your gallery wall label.) Only original works are permitted in judged theme contests (no prints please). Exhibits typically change the same night as our monthly member meeting. Be sure to take home your artwork at the end of the exhibit!
A monthly Award Winner will be selected and awarded a ribbon for themed exhibits. Happy creating!
In order to give our members more time to paint ahead for the TAP Gallery Exhibits, we will be trying to keep a yearly list of upcoming themes published in advance.
Visit our website to view the full list of all Upcoming TAP Gallery Themes so you can plan and create ahead. To participate in our other Public Galleries, you can submit a Request to be scheduled in our other Public Galleries on the website as well.
