In the spirit of mindfulness, fellowship, and loving kindness, we’ll look deeply into our patterns of consumption and waste through the lens of Buddhist teachings. This retreat offers meditation, practical tools, a presentation by a 9 year old, and group discussion on how zero-waste living expresses the truth that, given religious and cultural diversity, we are one people and one planet. It will be led by Zen Priests Daishin McCabe and Jisho Siebert of Zen Fields. Everyone of all faiths is welcome.Register for this meaningful retreat on Saturday, April 18th from 9am-noon at Pure Land of Iowa in Clive, with an optional field trip in the last portion.
Those attending are encouraged to be aware of their garbage and even their recycling if possible, before attending the retreat. Just non-judgmentally watch: What kinds of things do we throw away most?
