Exploring the Commons, People and Nature in Norwich

Info: This is a special version of Bridget's radical history walks that focuses on the City's environmental history & the idea of the commons. We will walk between the City Centre (meet at Timber Hill), the Cathedral, Wensum, & Kett's Heights. We will explore the changes the City has seen, events that have protected or threatened its landscape, how the City sits in a regional landscape and global system, and what we can learn from history to take positive action for the future. It responds to two events: 1) The performance of Three Acres and a Cow, which will be attended by 100s of people in The Halls on 21st Oct. This is all about the history of commons. 2) Global Doughnut Days - Reimagine Norwich will be running a series of events 22 - 24 Oct, exploring alternatives for social and environmental justice. It is free of charge, supported by Doughnut Economics Action Lab as part of this programme.
