Join BC Xplorers for a full-day outdoor experience exploring the trail to Norvan Falls, one of the North Shore’s most scenic forest hikes. This is more than just a hike; it’s a hands-on outdoor experience combining nature, movement, outdoor cooking, and learning, all at a relaxed, group-friendly pace.

Whether you live in Vancouver or are visiting BC for a short stay, this experience offers a unique way to explore the forest, river, and waterfall while connecting with others who enjoy the outdoors.

  • Time: 8:30 AM – approximately 5:00 PM
  • Location: Norvan Falls Trail (meeting point address provided)
  • Difficulty: Easy to moderate
  • Distance: ~14 km round trip
  • Elevation gain: ~350 m
  • Hiking time: 4–5 hours (with breaks)
  • Trail type: Wide forest trail with gradual incline
  • Terrain: Dirt and gravel trail with some uneven sections.

Participants should be comfortable walking for few hours at a steady pace. No technical hiking experience is required.

Outdoor Cooking Experience

This event includes a self-cooking outdoor challenge, where each participant prepares their own food using provided supplies.

We provide:

  • Tea-making setup
  • Breakfast: 3 eggs per person, sausages and buns
  • Cooking gas and pan
  • Lunch option: marinated chicken souvlaki or marinated meat
  • Snacks: 1 apple, 1 banana, 1 mandarin, and 1 chocolate energy bar

You bring:

  • Your own spoon, fork, and mug
  • A water bottle with water
  • Comfortable hiking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing
