North Hollywood Community Ride & Shop Small

Join Metro Bike Share for an exciting and enjoyable group ride through the Chandler Bike Path as we participate in Small Business Saturday! This ride is not a race, but a fun and relaxed way to explore the neighborhood, meet new people, stay active and support small businesses near the bike path. This ride is designed for cyclists of all levels, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned rider.

If you would like to use a Metro Bike Share bike at no cost, please reserve an “I need to borrow a bike” ticket when you register. You must be 16+ to ride a Metro Bike. Participants will also receive a FREE helmet."

Ride Information

Important Details:

• Date: 11/30/2024
• Time: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
• Distance: 7-mile round trip trip bike ride on flat streets primarily utilizing Chandler Bike Path.
• Start and End Location: North Hollywood Station. Meet at North Hollywood Station located conveniently near the G Line and B Line stations on the northwest corner of Lankershim and Chandler.
• Experience Level: This route is great for novice riders, those who haven’t ridden in a while, and those looking to socialize. You must be 16+ to ride a Metro Bike. This ride is welcoming to children on personal bikes. Children must either be secured in child carriers that meet safety standards or ride their own bicycle and be supervised by an adult at all times.

What to expect:

• Route: We'll be riding a 7-mile route, taking in some of the most scenic spots in the neighborhood. The ride will be at a social pace, with plenty of opportunities to chat, enjoy the views, and take two short breaks along the route: Donut Hut and Illiad Bookshop.
• Before the ride: If you don't have a helmet, one will be provided to you. We’ll begin with a brief safety talk and route overview before heading out.
• Pace & Support: This is a no-drop ride, meaning no one gets left behind. We’ll have ride leaders to keep the group together and make sure everyone’s having a good time.

What to bring:

• Participants 16 years and older can reserve a Metro Bike at no cost to attend this event.
• A functional bicycle or wheeled device (highly recommended with gears) if you would prefer to provide your own. We do not have a mechanic on the ride and recommend you carry your own tire repair kit.
• Hand sanitizer
• TAP card or money for fare if you plan to use the Metro bus or train ($1.75 per ride)
• A helmet (If you do not have one, one will be provided free of charge)
• Water bottle

Safety Protocols:

We will be observing strict protocols during the ride to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants. Please keep in mind the following rules while attending the ride:

• If you are feeling sick or unwell, please stay home.
• Metro Bike Share will provide helmets, water, and ride marshals.
• Participants are required to sign a release of liability. No exceptions.
