The North East Children’s Indie Book Fest is a brand new children’s book festival in Durham celebrating independent children’s authors, young readers and creative families across the North East. Following the success of the North East Indie Book Fest for adults, this dedicated children’s literary event brings together families, schools and book lovers for a day of storytelling, imagination and book discovery.

This family friendly book festival in the North East showcases talented independent children’s authors who will be selling their books and delivering live readings throughout the day. Children will have the opportunity to meet real authors, discover new stories, ask questions and gain signed copies of their favourite books.

The event is designed to promote children’s reading, creativity and confidence. We are passionate about supporting literacy and inspiring a lifelong love of books in young people across Durham and the wider North East. By giving families access to independent authors and unique stories, we are helping children explore new worlds beyond the classroom.
