North Central Pennsylvania Hunger Summit

Join the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank for the North Central Pennsylvania Hunger Summit on Friday, March 27th from 11:45 PM-4:00PM in the Jane Schultz Room on the second floor of Wertz Student Center at Lycoming College (Warrior Way, Williamsport, PA 17701).

This three part event will feature the launch of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank's Northern Tier Community Hunger Mapping Report, a debrief meeting hosted by the North Central Pennsylvania Coalition Against Hunger, and a Nutrition Education Session.

Through in-depth study and engagement with the community over the last year, this report discusses the food insecurity situation in the Northern Tier of our 27-county service territory- Bradford, Clinton, Lycoming, Potter, Sullivan, and Tioga counties- and identifies strengths and opportunities for growth throughout the charitable food system along with promoting policy and programmatic changes addressing food insecurity.

We will additionally host a meeting with the North Central Pennsylvania Coalition Against Hunger following the report presentation- during this time, you will have the opportunity to connect with leaders across the county and share your ideas on how we can strengthen our network.

To recognize Nutrition Education Month, our Nutrition Educators will discuss CPFB's Healthy Pantry Programs, introduce a new nutrition training program, and review the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This is a great opportunity to learn practical ways to add nutrition to food distributions and support a transition to a choice pantry.

Plus, partners will have a chance to win prizes, including funds on account, cookbooks, and a grand prize of a KitchenAid stand mixer!
