Nonprofit Board Essentials & Board Matching Fair

Day One will focus on building a stronger pipeline of informed, engaged, and mission-driven nonprofit board members.

The morning and early afternoon will feature a practical and approachable Board Governance Basics training designed for:

• Individuals interested in joining a nonprofit board
• New and emerging board members
• Existing board members seeking a refresher
• Grant partners onboarding new board members

Participants will explore:

• The roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards
• Legal and fiduciary duties
• Governance vs. management
• Fundraising and ambassador responsibilities
• Healthy board culture and engagement
• Mission, strategy, and community impact

Following the training, the Carver Family Resource Center gymnasium will transform into a nonprofit Board Matching Fair, creating opportunities for community members and nonprofit organizations to connect directly.
