Strengthening the Partnership Between Board Chairs & Executive Leaders

Day Two is a special all-day session designed specifically for nonprofit Board Chairs and CEOs/Executive Directors. Organizations are strongly encouraged to attend as leadership pairs whenever possible.

This experience is built around the idea that strong nonprofit organizations are grounded in strong partnerships between board leadership and executive leadership.

The day will begin with all participants together before moving into a mix of:

• Joint learning sessions
• Dedicated breakout conversations for Board Chairs
• Peer discussions and working sessions for CEOs/Executive Directors
• Guided reflection and candid dialogue
• Structured opportunities for leadership pairs to reconnect and debrief together

Topics throughout the day will include:

• Clarifying leadership roles and expectations
• Building trust and communication
• Strengthening board culture
• Accountability and support
• Navigating difficult conversations
• Aligning around mission, strategy, and community impact
• Leading organizations through growth and change

This is not intended to be a lecture-style experience. Instead, it is designed as an interactive and honest working session where nonprofit leaders can learn from one another, reflect candidly, and strengthen the leadership relationships that shape their organizations.

Together, these two days are intended to strengthen nonprofit leadership across our community by investing in governance, connection, partnership, and purpose-driven leadership at every level.
