John Noer of Noer Family Vineyards will lead our June meeting with a wine tasting from one of our newly opened vineyards - Noer Family.
The Noer family visited over 85 parcels before finally nestling into our plot of vines in Verona, VA. This parcel was selected for its impressive slope and south-facing exposure to host the Valley’s largest vineyard, planted solely with Vitis Vinifera— showcasing our gem that is the Shenandoah Valley.
Located just south of Fort Defiance along U.S. Route 11, Noer Vineyards has quietly opened for limited sales after years of construction and planting. The vineyard is poised to become one of the largest family-owned operations in the Mid-Atlantic region once all 200 acres are under vine.
John Noer, Owner says the winery is currently offering online sales and “pick-up at the cave” purchases. A tasting room is in the planning stages and expected to open within 18 months atop a scenic ridge with sweeping views east toward the Blue Ridge Mountains.
We strive to be as transparent as possible about our venue's limitations. Please note that the meeting space is located on the 2nd floor and is accessible by elevator. If you have specific questions about the layout or require other accommodations, please contact [email protected].
You are welcome to bring a picnic basket. There is no sale of food on the premise. While our members do love to share, because of the nature of this meeting, we do ask that you not bring any outside wine bottles to this tasting.

We meet to taste and learn in a group setting so that we can enjoy the experience together. Please give the presenter your full attention and respect your fellow enthusiasts during the tasting, everyone will have an opportunity to ask questions and make comments after each pour, and plenty of socializing time after.
