Nocturne Book Club presents an evening with Codie Crowley

Join us as we dive into Body Count on Saturday May 30th at 7pm - a queer feminist slasher steeped in supernatural bargains, Jersey Shore chaos, deadly consequences, and the terrifying cost of getting everything you ever wanted. Blending the energy of cult classic horror with sharp queer romance and teen drama, the story follows Sundae Valentine as she returns to the site of a childhood deal with a monster… just as prom weekend turns into a massacre.

Perfect for lovers of Buffy-esque heroines, cursed folklore, campy slashers, and beautifully monstrous stories. Expect horror, hauntings, nostalgia, and discussions on trauma, survival, desire, and what happens when the universe finally comes to collect.

Codie Crowley is the author of Here Lies a Vengeful Bitch and a lifelong teller of ghastly tales. As a child she once told a story at a slumber party that was so scary it caused mass hysteria in her tiny hometown, and she's been chasing that high ever since. When she isn't writing chilling fiction, she's usually out looking for ghosts in Salem, Massachusetts, where she lives with her husband, their cat, and a collection of creepy dolls.
