We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.
On March 28th, we take to the streets, not just in protest, but in reclamation. We are making visible what has always been true: power belongs to the people. No thrones, no crowns, no kings.
We’re not watching history happen, we’re making it. Join us.
We will be spread out along both sides of Route 29, from Hydraulic Road north to Greenbrier Drive, transforming this everyday space into a shared, living expression of community and resistance.
When you arrive, you’ll find a vibrant, welcoming gathering that reflects some of the things we are fighting for: community care, joy, and collective power.
We’ll have a food drive for Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville, as a part of our commitment to mutual aid and community care.
Throughout the area, you’ll encounter music, movement, and art as expressions of resistance and joy. Join Keep Going Together at the “Dance Corner” behind Trader Joe’s at Hydraulic and 29 North, a space to move, and connect. Look for giant protesting puppets, and listen for Singing Resistance Charlottesville and roving musicians carrying energy across the route.
For families, we’ll have a dedicated, kid-friendly space (near the 29 North Burger King) with snacks, bubbles, and chalk.
This movement belongs to all of us, and that joy itself is part of how we resist.
By showing up, spreading out, and filling this space with life, we are symbolically reclaiming it, asserting that our streets, our communities, and our future belong to the people.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
