About this Event
NIGHT LIGHT HIKE
We will start at the firepit and then go on a naturalist led hike in the Holliday Nature Preserve to see what creatures are still about in the quiet of the winter woods. On our return to the firepit, expect the naturalists to tell a tall tale or two.
Dress warmly for this outdoor program, we will reschedule only in extreme cold.
Our hike will be approximately 1.5 miles, with some small hills on a dirt and boardwalk trail surface. Please wear good boots since roots in portions of the trail make some areas uneven. We will provide flashlights to aid your nighttime vision.
The cost is $5 per person ($6 per person if out of county) and is recommended for ages five and older. Please no one younger than five years as we will be near a fire for part of the program. Parents/chaperones must accompany their children at all times during our programs. Please meet at the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center, then you will be directed to the firepit.
Pre-registration is required by calling (734) 261-1990 or visit the Nankin Mills Interpretive Center. Our office hours are 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday through Saturday (closed Noon-1:00 PM for lunch). Nankin Mills Interpretive Center will be closed December 24-Janaury 1, open Friday, January 2nd, and closed Saturday, January 3rd. Starting Monday, January 5th, we resume our hours of 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday through Saturday.
