Free NHS Health Checks are available at Age UK Plymouth for adults aged 40 to 74.You may be eligible if you:
-Are aged 40 to 74
-Live in Plymouth
-Do not already have a diagnosed heart condition, diabetes, kidney disease, stroke or dementia.
If you're unsure if you are eligible, Age UK Plymouth can help check this for you.
The NHS Health Check is straightforward and usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes. During your appointment, a trained member of staff will:
-Measure your blood pressure
-Check your cholesterol levels
-Record your height, weight and waist measurement
-Ask questions about your lifestyle, such as diet, physical activity, smoking and alcohol use
-Assess your risk of developing conditions such as heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and dementia.
