About this Event
Course Information:
This 6-day course prepares command officers to manage incidents in high-risk areas. It covers the Incident Command System (ICS), decision-making, strategic/tactical planning, pre-incident preparation, documentation, and post-incident analysis. Using lectures, case studies, simulations, and student participation, the course examines complex scenarios involving target hazards like prisons, oil facilities, nursing homes, colleges, and chemical plants. It focuses on incident management rather than tactical operations, emphasizing the development of Incident Management Teams.
