Newport Town Conversations

Town Conversations is a series of 5 place-based gatherings of the creative and cultural sectors on the Isle of Wight, and is a programme by Creative Island.

The ambition is to speak about and listen to the particular challenges and opportunities that we all face, to explore collaborative opportunities, share information and network with like-minded people.

For the next 6 Town Conversations, we're looking to speak about how we strengthen our sense of belonging, which has been a common theme across our established networks: Ryde, Newport, Cowes, West Wight and Bay to Bay, Ventnor and Cowes. This themed discussion began in Ryde in September 2025, and we're trying to find Island-unified ambitions and challenges across all 6 Town Conversations to find and try to solve common purpose. Getting the Island's central hub is important to this topic of dicussion, so please come along to share your thoughts.

Meet others in the Newport community, and come together, share stories of pride and challenge, and explore how we can collectively shape the future of our towns.

There is no dedicated on-site parking at Lord Louis Library in Newport, Isle of Wight; visitors must use nearby council-operated public car parks in Newport, with details available on the Isle of Wight Council website.

Accessibility: The Lord Louis Library in Newport has wheelchair accessible entrances and includes a range of facilities and services designed to ensure accessibility for all visitors. Please note however that as Town Conversations will be taking place after opening hours, you will need to enter through the side door (opposite the Live Wire shop in Orchard Street) as the front doors will not be open.
