**Join Us for the New Year’s Eve Hike - Tuesday, December 31, 2024**We are excited to invite everyone to our special New Year’s Eve Hike at Griffith Park! This unique event will gather several hiking groups in collaboration to celebrate and toast to a brand new year. Here are the key details:
**Event Details:**
- **Date & Time:** Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Arrive at 4:30 AM; the hike will begin promptly at 5:00 AM.
- **Meeting Location:** Griffith Park, Merry-Go-Round Parking Lot #1 (use the coordinates from past events).
- **Summit:** Mount Hollywood Summit.
- **End Time:** We plan to complete the hike by 7:30 - 8:00 AM.
- **Celebration:** We will raise a glass (or plastic cup!) and toast at the summit with the breathtaking view of Downtown LA as the backdrop. Apple cider will be provided for the toast as this is a non-alcoholic event to ensure safety and inclusivity.
**Important Details to Note:**
- **NOT A BEGINNER HIKE**: This is an intermediate-level hike.
- **Distance**: Approximately 6 miles (round trip).
- **Completion Time**: Average time of 3 hours.
- **Preparation**: Bring snacks or a meal, plenty of water, and wear trail running or hiking shoes (required).
- **Respect the Group**: Stay together, no shortcuts, and do not pass the lead.
- **No Pets**: Due to the expected turnout, please leave pets at home.
- *NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. To be mindful of those in sobriety.
- **Children**: Kids attending must be able to hike at least 6 miles with inclines and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- **Trail Etiquette**: Be courteous, encourage one another, and prioritize safety.
- **No Running**: This is a group hike; running is not permitted.
- **Non-Stroller Friendly**: The trail is not suitable for strollers.
