Our TechnoKats are bringing back the New Year's Eve Ball Drop! Join us at the Mayor's New Year's Eve Party, downtown Kokomo on Dec. 31, 2024 to bring in the new year!
TechnoKats began the ball drop in 1998, and Jan. 1, 2020 was the last NYE party and ball drop downtown. We're excited to bring this event back to Kokomo. We are currently using our 3rd iteration of the ball, which was completed in time for the Jan. 1, 2020 ball drop. Students spent about 4 years designing, building, soldering, testing, and programming this version of the ball. This version of the ball was conceived by the late Mark Koors, a TechnoKats team mentor for more than 15 years and co-founder of Andy Mark, Inc. TechnoKats like to boast our own "firsts" - we were using LED lights on our NYE ball before the ball in New York City!
