Another instalment in the New Routes series, an evening of acoustic, folk and roots artists.Set out cabaret style with candles on tables, it’s a comfortable and intimate space to listen to the best emerging and established artists from the area.

Max Bianco
Born in the northeast of England, singer songwriter Max Bianco was a founding member of the once-hyped-band The Jar Family – following personal differences, the band parted company in early 2018.
Max had already made a name for himself in the south of England and went on to form his new band The BlueHearts later that year.
Winning ‘Best Song’ in the 2018 Cambridge Band Competition landed Max and the BlueHearts into Kimberley Rew’s studio (Katrina & the Waves/ Walking on Sunshine) to record their Debut EP. They later returned to the studio to record their first full-length album ‘Harlot Moon’ which was released in April 2020.
An astute and heartfelt songwriter and social commentator – Max’s songs take you on a journey through love, life and the world around you. He has recently been back in the studio with fellow BlueHeart and piano maestro Sean O’Hanrahan to record a new duo album, set for release in November 2023.
Genuine talent like this doesn’t come around too often – if you get the chance to see Max play live, do. He’s destined for great things.

IMLAC
Imlac is a singer-songwriter from Scotland who blends folk, blues, soul and rock. After releasing a couple of EPs in recent years, he has won the NMG folk award, been played on BB6 several times, and performed with his band at local festivals including Secret Garden Party and Cambridge Folk Festival. He is now working on releasing his first album. Influences include John Martyn, Van Morrison and The Band.
