New Moon Tune-Up Sound Session
About this Event
Virgo New Moon — The Note Between Us
Can You Hear Your Own Note While Listening to Someone Else’s?
Every relationship creates a space between two notes.
There is your note.
There is their note.
And there is what happens when the two meet.
Sometimes the notes harmonize.
Sometimes they create dissonance.
Sometimes we adjust ourselves so much to another person's note that we can no longer hear our own.
The September New Moon in Virgo invites us to explore discernment, relationship, and boundaries—not as walls that separate us, but as the clarity that allows us to remain connected without losing ourselves.
Harmony does not require sameness.
An orchestra works because every instrument has its own sound. Relationship can work the same way.
The Note Between Us
With the Sun and Moon together in Virgo, this New Moon asks us to notice what may need refinement or adjustment.
For this Lunar Tune-Up, we'll explore questions such as:
- What happens to my note in the presence of someone else's?
- Where am I harmonizing—and where am I simply accommodating?
- Where might I be carrying something that isn't mine?
- Where have I become so focused on another person's experience that I've stopped listening to my own?
- Where could greater clarity create more connection rather than less?
- What boundary would allow me to remain present without abandoning myself?
- Can two different notes exist together without either one needing to change?
A boundary doesn't have to mean “keep out.”
Sometimes a boundary simply says:
This is my note.
That is your note.
And we can hear one another without becoming one another.
Resonance & Dissonance
We often assume resonance is good and dissonance is bad.
But music teaches us something different.
Dissonance creates tension, movement, contrast, and sometimes an entirely new direction in the composition.
The same can be true in relationship.
Someone else's words, choices, needs, emotions, or expectations may activate something within us. Return To Witness® invites us to notice that activation before automatically deciding what it means or what we must do about it.
The question becomes: Can I notice your note without immediately changing mine?
Notice. Tune. Play.
NOTICE — What happens to my note in the presence of yours?
Notice sensation, emotion, thought, impulse, contraction, openness, resonance, or dissonance without immediately needing to change it.
TUNE — What belongs to me?
Listen for the distinction between your experience and another person's. Tuning may mean softening, speaking, listening, asking for clarity, changing direction, or creating a boundary.
PLAY — What is my next intentional note?
You don't need to know the entire composition.
You only need to choose the next note that allows you to remain in relationship with another without leaving yourself.
Your Sound Tune-Up
You'll be invited to get comfortable, close your eyes, and receive an immersive Holographic Sound experience using singing bowls, vibration, layered sound, intention, and quiet reflection.
There is nothing you need to accomplish.
No experience with meditation, sound, astrology, or Return To Witness® is necessary.
Simply arrive as you are.
Listen to the sounds around you.
Notice the sounds within you.
And become curious about the space between them.
The New Moon Invitation
Where do I need greater discernment to stay connected without losing my own note?
Perhaps the practice isn't learning how to make everyone around us resonate with us.
Perhaps it is learning to hear ourselves clearly enough that another person's note can be different—and we can remain present anyway.
Your note does not have to disappear for harmony to become possible.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to settle in. Comfortable clothing is encouraged.
Yoga mats, blankets, eye masks, and bottled water are included.
Reception with tea service and snacks afterwards.
