NEW! Introduction to Stoneware Workshop
We're excited to introduce stoneware to Artist for a Day!
Unlike traditional pottery, stoneware is fired at much higher temperatures, creating incredibly durable pieces that are microwave, dishwasher, and food safe. The real magic, however, is found in the glazes. These specialty glazes flow, layer, and react during firing to create beautiful combinations that are impossible to achieve with traditional pottery.
In this introductory workshop, you'll learn the basics of working with stoneware while creating your own handcrafted mug.
During class you'll learn:
• How stoneware differs from traditional pottery
• How specialty glazes work
• Tips for layering glazes to create beautiful effects
• Recommended glaze combinations
• Techniques for achieving the best results
Your registration includes:
• One stoneware mug
• Premium specialty glazes
• Guided instruction
• High-fire kiln firing
No experience is necessary.
Because stoneware uses specialty glazes and techniques, this introductory workshop is required before participating in future stoneware painting sessions.
Seats are limited to provide plenty of one-on-one instruction.
No-shows and same-day cancellations forfeit their registration.
