Performing the neurological exam and lesion localisation - this lecture will take you through performing a thorough neurological examination, including initial triage and providing top-tips for interpretation, how to neuro-localise and come up with sensible differential diagnoses.
Vestibular disease in Practice - this lecture will discuss common causes of vestibular signs in dogs and cats, including meningoencephalitis of unknown aetiology, otitis media/interna, idiopathic causes and FIP (neurological feline infectious peritonitis).
Managing Epilepsy in Practice - this lecture will talk through recognition and causes of seizures in dogs and cats, as well as best treatment for both chronic and acute emergency cases.
Epilepsy mimics – Movement Disorders and Tremor Syndromes - is it a seizure? This lecture will discuss conditions often mistaken for seizures including paroxysmal dyskinesia (movement disorder) and tremor syndromes.
Approach to Acute Spinal Disease - with acute paralysis being a common neurological presentation, this session will talk through common causes and treatment options including intervertebral disc disease, ANNPE (acute non-compressive nucleus pulposus extrusion), ischaemic myelopathy and spinal fractures.
Clinical Approach to Neck Pain - this lecture will discuss common neurological causes of neck pain including intervertebral disc disease, SRMA (steroid-responsive meningitis-arteritis) and discospondylitis, how to diagnose them including how to safely perform CSF sampling and treatment options.
Approach to the Weak Patient and Neuromuscular disease - with neuromuscular disease often over-looked, this lecture will talk through the most common diseases including acute polyradiculoneuritis, myaesthenia gravis, botulism and tetanus.
