A look into making your space neurodivergent-friendly by MK Kalbaugh at Wildwood Counseling in Takoma Park, MD.
About this Event

Explore with MK Kalbaugh, LCPC as we look at the different ways neurodivergence can impact us at home, and brainstorm strategies we have all used to accommodate ourselves to get through the hard times!

Additionally, we will share the ways we celebrate community and the good times, with accomodations! We will complete a simple process to create a heated pad (all materials provided on site) that can be used to relieve discomfort, provide a soothing weight, and smell relaxing.

MK will additionally provide resources on neurodiversity affirming therapeutic spaces at the end that are accessible in person and online.
Where: Rooftop space at 7050 Carroll Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912
Accessibility: There is no elevator, and 2 short sets of stairs. If the weather isn’t cooperating, we will be inside the building, but the way to the roof will clearly marked with signs. Youth and teens (with direct on-site parental engagement& supervision) are welcome as well as adults. If you have concerns about access, please email MK at [email protected].
Transportation and Parking: The closest metro stop is Takoma (on the red line), and it’s about a 6 minute walk to the office. There is metered parking all the way down Carroll Ave. as well as on adjacent streets like Westmoreland. There are also 2 lots that accept payment (next to 7000 Carroll & the other is behind Tabletop).
