What is nerd nite? This is a 19+ casual FREE gathering with speakers who present about something that they're passionate about—from the science of Pokemon to wine sommelier secrets to the mysteries of the Great Lakes; we’ve had speakers talk about anything and everything they nerd out about!
As always, we'll have exciting science demonstrations and trivia with PRIZES!

Generative AI: Everything You've Always Wanted to Know But Were Afraid To Ask
Hannele Kormano will dive into the math behind generative AI and how it makes "decisions" and gets "creative".
Hannele grew up in Thunder Bay and after spending a bit of time in Toronto, moved back just in time to be an auntie. She's worked as a software developer for just over a decade, and currently works at a place called PagerDuty on the generative AI features, but she promises she's not evil.
