Neon Riders Crash The Niagara Glowriders (St. Catharines Roadtrip)

On Saturday, August 29th, we're going to have a Neon Riders Roadtrip to the Niagara Glowriders in St. Catharines. This outing will be structured very similarly to the Hamilton roadtrips Steve has been leading for a while, but please read thoroughly as some details are different.

The Niagara Glowriders are a night bike party group much like our own. Every year from April to October, they host bimonthly glow rides that alternate between different cities and towns lighting up the night across Niagara Region. I've chosen one in St. Catharines for this excursion for practicality, but they host rides all over Niagara Region including Niagara Falls. Niagara Glowrides are an easy pace suitable for all riders. Niagara Glowriders motto: Easy Rides, Positive Vibes.
🚆Go Train Information🚆
If you're taking the train with us, we will meet at the Bay Concourse at 4:50 PM.
The plan will be to get the 5:07 PM Niagara Express train from Union station, arriving at St. Catharines station at 7:05 PM.
If you are coming from a different GO station, transfer to the Niagara Express at Oakville Station.
On the way back, we will aim to catch the 10:36 PM train back to Union Station. This is the last GO train back, but the Niagara rides are shorter than our own (~1-1.5 hours) so it should be no problem getting back. We will aim to be back at St. Catharines station by 10:20 PM.
🎟️$10 GO WEEKEND PASS🎟️
For this trip, the best option is to buy the $10 Weekend Day Pass, as it will cover the round trip for just $10. Remember to activate your pass at least 5 minutes before the train departure as there is a timer before the ticket becomes valid.
⚠️Ride Information🚲
Timing will be tight due to limited train service to Niagara Region. If our train is on time, we will be departing St. Catharines station at EXACTLY 7:10 PM. If you can't find us after getting off the train, head directly to Trust Beer Bar.
The August 29 Niagara Glowride will be starting at 7:30 PM at Trust Beer Garden in downtown St. Catharines, a ~10 minute ride from the train station. A map of the route from the train station to Trust Beer Garden will be uploaded to the Discussion section of this event.
A map of the route we are taking with the Niagara Glowriders will be in the discussion section of this post. It's about 1-1.5 hours total.
When we are with the Niagara Glowriders they will be taking the lead, please follow any safety instructions from their ride leads and marshalls. Noah will lead the Neon Riders cohort to and from the GO station.
🚘 Information for Drivers
If you are coming to this ride by an alternative means such as driving, please go directly to Trust Beer Garden where the ride starts. There is lots of parking available throughout downtown St. Catharines on and off-street. There's a surface lot next to Trust Beer Bar, and a large multistorey parkade across the street.
🍔 Snack Stop 🍦
Time permitting, We will go over to Super Burgers & Fries at Carlisle and St. Paul Streets to refuel for our trip home.

🚲🚆GO TRANSIT BIKE INFORMATION🚆🚲
As we are taking the Niagara branch, there will very likely be a bicycle car on the trains we take. The bicycle car can fit up to 22 bikes. Normal cars allow 2 or 4 bikes per car. If there is a bicycle car we can try to get on the same car together. Please be mindful of Union Station's very narrow platforms and do not block access for other passengers.
E-riders please beware GO has rather specific restrictions on E-vehicles. They only allow E-bikes on their Trains if they resemble bicycles and not if they are more like mopeds or motorcycles. For more info on what types of e-bikes they allow please see their page: https://www.gotransit.com/en/your-commute-to-go/biking-and-go-transit
PS. Make sure to bring a spare tube with you on this ride. If you get a flat in the middle of the ride you don't want to be stuck in St Catharines with a flat!
