About Orlan’s Instructor Profile:
Orlan Mat, (born Orlando Mateos) is world renown dance instructor and DJ from West Los Angeles. Orlans latin dance talent was discovered by legendary promotor Albert Torres who was the creator of the very first latin dance festival congress of its kind over two decades ago the Los Angeles Salsa Festival same year along with the Puerto Rico festival. Albert encouraged Orlan while he danced at his co-organized event in Europe over a decade ago to take up Liz Liras offer to have Orlan start teaching share his talent. Today, Orlan is a multi-dance style pro instructor for Bachata Sensual, UrbanKiz, ModernZouk and Salsa on1/on2 (SBKZ style dance). He popularized in ZoukChata Bachata Sensual with his commitment to promote International Zouk moves and style, that Orlan has been teaching for over ten years as well as UrbanKiz KiZouk. He has featured in over 50 major international dance festivals, traveled worldwide to Americas, Europe, and Islands in Hawaii, Pacific Asia and Caribbean Islands. Previously as a teenager, Orlan was a Disney youth dancer and eventually later on after attending university in Europe, he featured as dance instructor in many festivals and Caribbean dance cruises at the Aventura Dance Cruise ADC from Miami Florida. Its been a long time since he first featured in Europe Amsterdam Summer Breeze, Portugal Symposium, Hamburg Gala along with his first in his country,(over a decade of fun festivals) in USA Bachata Kizomba Fest by Pablo Vilches and of course the legendary LA Salsa Fest by Albert Torres, LA Bachata Fest, all 3 Las Vegas Festivals AfroLatin, SuperCongress and LVSF, also the very first of its kind in USA the LA Zouk Congress with Kizomba at Sea on a museum ship Queen Mary, among the earlier festivals he was featured in. In 2024 he was recently featured dance instructor at the San Francisco International Bachata Festival, UrbanKiz in Denmark, and Bachata Sensual ZoukChata several years featured at the Los Angeles WSF.
