About this Event

Do you work with NDIS participants who have complex needs?

Join Ability Action Australia for a practical and supportive session tailored for Support Coordinators, frontline workers, and anyone navigating the world of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

We’ll unpack when and how to engage Behaviour Support Practitioners (BSPs), how they can best support you and your participants, and how to work together to improve outcomes, especially in times of change and complexity.

What’s on the Agenda?

Understanding the Role of BSPs

✔️ When a Behaviour Support Practitioner might be needed

✔️ What they do and don’t do

✔️ How BSPs can support you and your participants

Working Together for Better Outcomes

✔️ Real-life case studies to illustrate collaboration and best practice

✔️ Open Q&A and case discussions including:

• How to access a Behaviour Support Plan or Behaviour Needs Assessment

• Guidance on restrictive practices

• Early engagement strategies to prevent escalation

Self-Care and Resilience in the Sector

✔️ To close the session, we’ll hold a short wellness session focused on building resilience and preventing burnout amidst this season of change in the industry.

☕ Plus, enjoy great coffee and a morning tea spread, and connect with others in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Who will be Presenting?

This session will be led by Abrielle Perez, NSW Clinical Advisor and Western Sydney Team Leader for Positive Behaviour Support. Abrielle has a passion for supporting individuals with Psychosocial presentations, and firmly believes that input from the individual and those they hold dear is paramount in achieving their visions and goals.
