Navigating Transitions: Senior Safety, Fraud Prevention & Consumer Protection

Thursday, October 22, 2026 | 12:30–2:30 PM
Parkgate Community Centre

Join the North Shore Keep Well Society for the fifth and final workshop in our Navigating Transitions series—a series of interactive workshops created by and for seniors to support healthy aging, independence, connection, and well-being.

Scams, fraud, and financial exploitation are becoming increasingly sophisticated. This workshop will provide practical information to help older adults recognize common warning signs, protect their personal information, and know where to turn for support.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Common frauds targeting seniors
  • Online and telephone scams
  • Identity theft prevention
  • Banking and digital security
  • Consumer protection resources
  • Reporting scams and obtaining help
  • Cybersecurity basics
  • Recognizing financial, physical, and emotional abuse

The Navigating Transitions series takes a holistic approach to aging, recognizing that navigating later life can involve many different transitions and decisions. This workshop is part of a five-part series. See the upcoming workshops below and click the links to register for each session.

The North Shore Keep Well Society has been supporting older adults on the North Shore for decades, helping seniors overcome barriers to healthy, active, and connected lives through accessible wellness programs, health education, volunteer support, and social connection.

This project was developed with the insight and leadership of older adult volunteers who identified the need for greater access to information, resources, and meaningful opportunities for connection.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of the New Horizons for Seniors Program, which helps make this initiative possible.

Come join us for an afternoon of learning, conversation, and connection. Everyone is welcome at this FREE workshop!

Light refreshments provided.
