Navigating Transitions: Financial Awareness, Benefits & Income Supports
Thursday, October 1, 2026 | 12:30–2:30 PM
Parkgate Community Centre - Multipurpose Room
Join the North Shore Keep Well Society for the second workshop in our Navigating Transitions series—a series of interactive workshops created by and for seniors to support healthy aging, independence, connection, and well-being.
This workshop will help older adults better understand the financial resources, benefits, and supports available to them, while building confidence in managing income and planning for later life.
Together, we’ll explore:
- Understanding retirement income sources
- CPP, OAS, GIS, and Allowance benefits
- BC seniors’ benefits and tax credits
- Managing income during retirement
- Budgeting on a fixed income
- Property tax deferment programs
- Housing-related financial supports
- Community resources for low-income seniors
- Financial planning considerations for later life
The Navigating Transitions series takes a holistic approach to aging, recognizing that navigating later life can involve many different transitions and decisions. This workshop is part of a five-part series. See the workshops below and click the links to register for each session.

The North Shore Keep Well Society has been supporting older adults on the North Shore for decades, helping seniors overcome barriers to healthy, active, and connected lives through accessible wellness programs, health education, volunteer support, and social connection.
This project was developed with the insight and leadership of older adult volunteers who identified the need for greater access to information, resources, and meaningful opportunities for connection.
We gratefully acknowledge the support of the New Horizons for Seniors Program, which helps make this initiative possible.
Come join us for an afternoon of learning, conversation, and connection. Everyone is welcome at this FREE workshop!
