About this Event
Stress, Burnout & Compassion Fatigue: Navigating Community Work Without Losing Yourself!
Hosted by , we’re here to connect and uplift, cultivate relationships, share inspiring stories, and encourage more people to weave community wherever they live, work, and play. This training is intended to support community members in NWA!
Join us at the Fayetteville Public Library (Ziegler Room) for a much-needed training on the challenges of balancing the demands and stressors of community work. In this training, community builders will explore the critical issue of stress, burnout and compassion fatigue. With a focus on self-compassion, stress reduction, and mindfulness, we will examine practices focused on how to care for others without sacrificing your own mental and emotional health.
During the training, participants will:
- Complete a self-care assessment.
- Learn the 3 types of self-compassion: self-kindness, common humanity & mindfulness
- Identify when to take a break vs. when to act.
- Understand how self-compassion breaks can prevent burnout and help you recalibrate.
- Practice techniques to calm your nervous system and stay centered.
- Design a self-care plan to take home and begin implementing after the training!
This in-person event will provide valuable insights and strategies to help you thrive in your community work. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited. Don't miss out!
