About this Event
Nature, Movement & Mindfulness: Yoga in the Parks
Featuring Danielle Marie Jones of ROOTSRISE LLC
Glen Emerald Park (GEP)
Saturday, July 11, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Program Summary
Nature, Movement & Mindfulness invites participants to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with themselves through guided outdoor wellness experiences in South DeKalb's parks and greenspaces. Each offering features a unique facilitator whose approach encourages participants to cultivate presence, curiosity, and connection while experiencing the restorative benefits of nature.
July is National Park and Recreation Month, a nationwide celebration recognizing The Power Of parks and recreation to strengthen health, foster belonging, inspire play, and connect communities through nature. This special offering reflects those values by creating space to pause, restore, and experience firsthand the well-being that parks make possible.
Back by popular demand, we're delighted to welcome Danielle Marie Jones, Founder and Principal Owner of ROOTSRISE LLC, for another inspiring morning of movement and mindfulness. It has been a joy watching Danielle begin to cultivate a rhythm and following within the South DeKalb community, and this month's experience promises to build on that momentum. Trust me when I say you're in for a treat for the mind, body, and senses. Guided by her values of love, curiosity, transparency, and integrity, Danielle thoughtfully blends mindful movement, breathwork, reflection, and embodied practice to create a welcoming space where participants can reconnect with themselves, one another, and the natural world
Practiced for more than 5,000 years, yoga has long served as a pathway toward cultivating harmony between body, mind, and spirit. Together beneath Glen Emerald Park's tree canopy, participants will explore this enduring tradition while discovering how nature continues to offer one of our greatest opportunities for restoration, reflection, and renewal.
As part of National Park and Recreation Month, participants may also encounter a few surprise wellness and nature "pop-up" moments woven throughout the experience—small invitations to play, wonder, connect, and celebrate The Power Of parks together.
Nature, Movement & Mindfulness is a growing collection of outdoor wellness offerings designed to support DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs' vision to create and connect communities through people, parks, and programs, while advancing the NRPA Pillars of Health & Well-Being, Environmental Resilience, and Equity.
