Join Winona Public Library and naturalists from Whitewater State Park on June 11 & July 10 at 10 AM at Windom Park to interactively learn about the plants & animals in our beautiful driftless area. We’ll start with a brief nature education piece, followed by activities and crafts related to the topic. This is great for ages 6 and up. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Bountiful Butterflies June 11th 10am
Come learn about our amazing butterflies. We will take a short walk to catch butterflies so we can observe them up close. Bring your own net if you have one or use one of the park’s. We will also do a fun butterfly craft.
Slithering into Your Heart. July 9th 10am
During this program we will discover some of the common snakes found in southeastern Minnesota. We’ll learn about our local rattlesnakes and the copycats trying to trick us into thinking they are rattlesnakes too. We’ll even have a chance to meet the real thing!
