Join Mary Jo Flemming for an engaging presentation on nature journaling, a simple yet powerful practice that sharpens observation, encourages curiosity, and deepens our connection to the natural world. No artistic talent is required—just a willingness to slow down and pay attention.
With a background in biology and education, Mary Jo has spent a lifetime exploring and teaching about the outdoors. Inspired early on by a mother who loved birds and wildflowers, she developed a deep appreciation for nature that continues to grow. In retirement, she has embraced nature journaling as a way to combine her interests in birds, writing, and native landscaping.
You will leave with practical tips to get started and the reassurance that nature journaling is for everyone. Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or simply someone who enjoys being outside, this practice offers a meaningful way to engage with the world around you.
Be warned: nature journaling can be wonderfully addictive.
ALAS programs for the 2025-26 season will continue to be hybrid, with the in-person presentation held at the Lincoln Center (1519 Water St., Stevens Point, Wisconsin) and remotely live via Zoom on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 7pm.
