In conjunction with the installation of a pollinator garden at the FSC, we'll explore gardening with native plants.
We'll dig into the what, why and how of curating a sustainable, diverse garden that supports pollinators, beneficial insects and other wildlife right in your backyard. Whether you have acres of land or an apartment balcony, learn how you can enhance conservation efforts at every scale and budget!
We’ll also discuss the FSC’s upcoming garden project and how it relates to care for creation and Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato si'. The program will consist of a 40-minute presentation, time for questions and refreshments.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Leah Jakusz is the land sustainability coordinator for the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. Her work facilitates FSPA’s commitment to care for creation by managing the land conservation, forestry and sustainability projects on the FSPA Land–St. Joseph Ridge. Her efforts also aim to engage and educate local community members and students. As a graduate of University of Wisconsin–Madison, Leah earned her BS in environmental sciences and conservation biology and has focused her early career experiences in ecological restoration, pollinator and avian conservation, and science communication.
