National Trust Properties Nationwide | London, England
Every spring, the National Trust transforms 300+ of England's, Wales's, and Northern Ireland's most beautiful properties into one giant Easter adventure. From grand stately homes and manicured kitchen gardens to rugged coastal estates and industrial heritage sites — wherever you are in the UK, there's a trail near you.
The programme runs throughout the Easter school holidays (late March through Easter Monday), giving families plenty of time to explore at their own pace. Each participating property features its own unique trail theme, so no two hunts are alike. Pick up your trail sheet and bunny ears at the start, follow the clues through the grounds, and reward yourself — and the kids — with a chocolate egg at the end. A vegan and free-from chocolate egg option is also available.

What to Expect

Trail fees are approximately £3.50 per child — National Trust members get in free. The trails are designed to take you through the best of each property, so you'll see far more than you would on a standard visit. Some properties run interactive activity stations alongside the trail: egg-and-spoon races, hoopla, welly wanging, face painting — it varies by site. Expect to spend 1–2 hours on the trail itself, longer if you stay for a picnic or to explore the wider estate.
Many locations offer accessible routes suitable for pushchairs, prams, and wheelchairs — check individual property listings for details.

Finding Your Nearest Trail

Use the property finder at nationaltrust.org.uk to locate your closest participating site. Some properties require advance booking — always check before you go, especially during peak Easter weekend when popular spots sell out.
